Dental emergencies are quite inconvenient, especially while you’re on vacation. But, they do occur at times. So, the best thing you can do is prepare for the dental emergencies. That way you can know exactly what to do if they occur and you can reduce your nerves and anxiety during the situation. So, to help you prepare for dental emergencies while you’re on vacation, our dentist, Dr. Yong Eon Park, encourages you to do the following things:
-Pack a handkerchief or gauze: These things can help control bleeding when the tissues have been injured. All you need to do is place the handkerchief or gauze over the injured area of the smile and apply pressure until the bleeding stops.
-Pack a small container with a lid: This container can keep a knocked-out tooth alive for a short time. Just fill it with milk or saltwater and place the tooth inside. This container can also help you keep pieces of a broken tooth safe until you see your dentist. You don’t need to fill the container with liquid in this situation.
-Pack your dentist’s number: It’s very important to call your dentist as soon as you experience the injury. Our dental team can help you through the situation and can even help you find a nearby dentist who can help you.
